Baby Update
For those who know, and those who don't know what's going on with the little wiggling tyke in my belly, here's an update. We recently had another ultrasound- pictures to follow soon- to determine how big this baby is going to be. My protruding abdomen and the fact that I was measuring a few weeks ahead seemed to concern the doctors enough to take another peek at the baby. She's doing great. She's no giant, but she's no Napolean either. They think we're on track to have an 8 or 9+ lb baby. They seemed satisfied with that, but wow- that's a big baby! To me there is a big difference in 1 lb of baby when it gets time to deliver! The baby is also measuring about 9 days ahead of schedule, however, they have no intent on moving up the due date. So, if the baby comes a week and a half earlier than my "due date" I won't be the least bit surprised. Gabi was 8lbs 10oz and came 10 days earlier than my first due date, and 3 days earlier than my second due date. Needless to say my belly continues to grow larger everyday! The joys of pregnancy!
White Pants
There's something about kids and white pants, white anything really. They seem irrevocably drawn to anything white. Not only are they drawn to it, but is seems as though they feel a certain need, a certain responsibility to make sure that whatever article of white that they come across must needs be marked- with something, anything to break up the seemingly monotonous white.
As I was doing laundry this morning, I couldn't help but laugh to myself as I put into the wash a pair of white capris that I had only been able to wear for a few hours due to the "white pants with kids problem." The capris were sporting two chocolate kiss marks on the knee, where my beautiful daughter, Gabi, had so lovingly placed on them while I was sitting down folding laundry earlier this week.
Maybe the child is not the one to blame. I am the parent, I am responsible for the actions of my innocent child. I choose to wear the white despite the inevitable outcome, yet I still wear them. For the love of my kid, the love of laughter, and the love of my white capris, I will probably continue to wear them.
Oh well, they're just white pants, anyway, right? :)
